Sam helps husbands and wives have a series of discussions that they probably can't have on their own. These discussions lead to agreement on the issues of parenting the children, alimony and child support, and dividing the marital property.

Because mediation allows the couple to negotiate directly with each other, it is so efficient that most couples are able to reach agreement in less than eight hours of work.
